Tuesday Tales - Sign
Hi Everyone! Welcome back to Tuesday Tales! This week’s word prompt is “sign”. We’re back with the Hallow Brothers in Decision.
“Yep. Satan’s right hand man. The ‘for-your-greatest-desire-sign-on-the-dotted-line' dude himself.”
“Let me talk to Momma. I can make her see reason.”
Joshua shook his head. “You can talk yourself blue in the face. If Momma can’t get past that she’s half demon, it won’t matter.”
Josiah slapped him on the shoulder then rubbed the spot with his hand. He hated how miserable his little brother looked. There were few times in his life that Josiah was stumped. This was one of them.
Joshua cocked a head towards Josiah’s cabin. “You better get back to your family. I need to see what my children are getting into.”
Josiah nodded. “If you need anything…”
“You’re the first I will call.” Joshua spun out of Josiah’s grasp and made his way inside his cabin. With a sigh, Josiah trudged to his. He climbed the steps and nudged the door open.
Sarah held Zane in her arms. “So? What was all that about?”
Josiah let go a slow exhale. “Maya is running from Momma. She is certain that she’ll be rejected by my mother since she is half demon. She is the daughter of Mephistopheles himself.”
Sarah shook her head as she scowled. “Momma wouldn’t do that.”
He struggled to give her a small smile. “That’s the problem. With all of her Bible thumping, the old woman most certainly would write her out of the family.”
He crossed the room and tugged her and their son into his arms. He parted her lips with his for a soft kiss. He heard her gasp and moan in response to the embrace. He pulled free from her then pressed his brow to hers. Their mating hadn’t exactly been easy. No one’s had. It was sort of the trend.
But Joshua? His was a problem there may not be an answer to.
