Hi everyone! Welcome to Tuesday Tales! This week’s word prompt is "flowers”.. This week we are catching up with Hades in the fourth book in the Gods of DC series, Death Do Us Part. Don’t forget to check out the other awesome Tuesday Tales! Click here to take a look! Demeter slipped from the sunroom into the dark corridor of Hestia’s misplaced castle. She glanced around at the ancient tapestries embroidered with flowers that hung on the rock walls. She was the first and only god or goddess Hestia invited to see the place when it was planted in the middle of the Maine forests. Demeter did question her sister whether it was prudent to pluck a castle out of Europe and plant it in the United States. Hestia assured her that no one would miss it.
Up to this point, Hestia was right. Nobody did. Demeter rubbed her rounded belly as she sighed. Why had she gotten up again? Pregnancy brain struck her like the plague. She frowned as she drew lazy circles on the fabric of her shirt. Until she remembered, she might as well find some thing to eat. Her eyes widened as the large, wooden front door opened. It took either pure power or a lot of muscle to move the thing. It was one of those massive doors in the medieval movies or story books. Whoever it was opening it meant only one thing if they could budge it. They were a threat. She lifted her hand in defense not that she had to. She was a goddess. She could think it and it would happen. Her eyes widened and her mouth gaped open a little as she met her husband’s dark eyed gaze. He seemed just as stunned to see her. The dark circles didn’t match the sudden playful glimmer she loved so much. Demeter swallowed hard as they froze in place staring at each other. Freddy was supposed to be in the Underworld right now, not here. He had too many duties for a casual visit. This very well could be an imposter impersonating the man she loved. She sucked in a breath as he rushed to her. A moment later all her fears fled as he enveloped her lips with his. His kiss was hard and desperate like his life depended on it. She clung to him as she struggled to return it. She knew that feel, that taste. She would until the end of time. He pressed his forehead against hers as they broke apart then gathered her in his arms. They held each other tight. “Fred,” she whispered as she gazed into his eyes. “Hey,” he replied just as soft. “What are you doing here?” “I have an update and it’s a big one.”
